Apple Rings

3 Large Granny Smith Apples peeled, cored and sliced into rings
3/4 Cup Oakhurst Whole Milk
1 Cup Flour
1 Large Egg
1 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 Cup + 2 Tbsp Granulated Sugar (divided use)
1 Tbsp cinnamon
Vegetable Oil for frying
1 Cup of Oakhurst Heavy Whipping Cream
4 Tbsp of Caramel Sauce/Drizzle
Preparation
- In a medium bowl, mix together the milk, flour, egg, baking powder and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Stir until smooth.
- Place the remaining sugar and cinnamon on a plate; stir to combine.
- Heat 1 inch of oil in a pot to 350 degrees F.
- Dip each apple ring into the batter, then add to the pot of oil. Cook 3-4 apple slices at a time for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown, turning occasionally.
- Remove the apples from the oil and immediately roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Repeat the process with the remaining apples.
- With a hand mixer whip the heavy whipping cream until soft peak form. Add in the caramel sauce and whip at medium speed until you reach stiff peaks.
- Serve your apple rings immediately with the caramel whipped cream and enjoy!
