Position Description

For more than 15 years, Oakie the Oakhurst Acorn has been a favorite of children and their families across Maine and New Hampshire, bringing smiles and fun to parades, fairs, festivals and schools. Oakie’s mission is to educate kids about important issues such as healthy eating, staying active and being good stewards of our environment – bringing to life the qualities of The Natural Goodness of Maine.

Job Requirements

We are looking for people that love working with kids and have a positive, friendly demeanor and are reliable, energetic and physically active. Must be able to carry around an extra 20 pounds (the costume weight) and be willing to perform inside or outside.  A flexible schedule is a MUST with mostly weekend and evening availability, especially during the months of May – October. Reliable transportation is needed and must have had a valid driver’s license for at least one year.

Educational Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
