The nutrients and calcium in Oakhurst Milk play an important role in helping women of all ages achieve overall wellness! For women looking to increase their calcium intake and get a dose of other healthy nutrients, Pam advises that women “definitely need to consider making dairy a part of their balanced diet. Dairy is a great way to get both calcium and protein at once and reduces one's risk for a number of ailments, including kidney stones and colon cancer”.

Some Quick Facts on how dairy products from Oakhurst can help women meet their nutritional needs:

  • Dairy is a great way to get both calcium and protein at once
  • Oakhurst Milk contains both calcium and vitamin D for healthy bones
  • Dairy provides good protein for older adults who have trouble chewing some other protein foods
  • Dairy foods are more concentrated in calcium than many other food sources
  • Many Oakhurst products come in low fat or non-fat versions to help reduce the risk of heart disease and weight issues
  • Dairy foods provide other nutrients for health besides the calcium found in a supplement

Children of all ages need to be drinking milk. According to Pam, “for the younger children, if they get two to three glasses of milk a day, they should be getting adequate calcium. And for teenagers, they're going through a lot more bone change and so they need the equivalent of four glasses a day.”
