Meet the Bennett Family
Meet the Bennetts who continue to run the business and stand behind each and every Oakhurst product just as their grandfather Stanley T. Bennett, their father Donald H. Bennett, and their brother Stanley T. Bennett II did before them.

William P. Bennett
President and Chief Executive Officer
Bill has worked at Oakhurst for forty years. In 1983 he became Vice President of Administration. In 2006 he became Executive Vice President and COO. In 2010 he took over the role of President and CEO. Upon his brother Stanley’s passing, Bill was appointed President, CEO and Chairman of the Board. Over the years Bill has helped make our family business the successful organization it is today. He scrutinizes every aspect of our day-to-day operations and develops strategies for continuous improvement of quality and efficiency. Whether it's better or more efficient ways to make our products, innovative methods for getting them to market faster, or new ideas for making Oakhurst a safer and better place to work, Bill works to make sure that we are always improving.
He is the former Chairperson and currently a board member of the Portland Salvation Army Advisory Board. He has served on the board of the Greater Portland V Workers’ Compensation Trust for almost twenty years and is currently a member of the University of Southern Maine Board of Visitors. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Maine, Orono. Bill lives on Little Sebago Lake in Windham with his wife Susan. They have two grown children, Aaron and Lea.

John H. Bennett
Executive Vice President
Chief Operating OfficerJohn is the fourth member of the Bennett family to join the dairy's operation. Previously he owned Port Quality Shellfish, a wholesale seafood distributor in Portland, and has a long and successful record in perishable product sales and distribution. After selling his business to Preble Seafood of Kennebunk in 1998, he continued working with Preble in purchasing and sales until joining Oakhurst in 2003. John has served as Oakhurst's General Sales Manager, Director of Marketing, V.P. of Sales, and V.P. of Logistics. Today John is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
John currently serves on the Board of Directors of Rippleffect. A graduate of Tufts University with a degree in Economics, John lives in Portland with his wife, Abby Snyder, his son Donald, and his daughter Caroline. He and his family enjoy hiking and swimming, and boating in Casco Bay.

Althea Bennett McGirr
Director of Customer Service
and Consumer AffairsAlthea has worked at Oakhurst Dairy for over 30 years. As Director of Customer Service and Consumer Affairs, she answers consumers' questions about Oakhurst products, operations and community initiatives. She also manages the internal customer service department and works closely with Marketing and Sales. Althea works on the many philanthropic activities of Oakhurst and the Bennett Family and serves on the Board of Directors.
Althea is on the Board of Directors of the Friends of Casco Bay and she is an Advisory Board member for the Iris Network. She is a graduate of Westbrook College and the University of Southern Maine. She and her husband Bob reside in Falmouth. She has two grown daughters, Lucia and Katherine, and enjoys spending time with her two grandsons, Peter and Jonathan.

Jean Bennett Driscoll
Executive Assistant
Oakhurst welcomed Jean in 2008 as the fifth Bennett sibling to join the Dairy. She has many years of office managerial experience. She served on the Oakhurst Marketing Advisory Committee and the Charitable Giving Committee. After initially working as the Administrative Assistant in the Sales and Marketing office, Jean now serves as the Executive Administrative Assistant to Bill and John. She is also a member of the Board of Directors.
Jean is a graduate of Westbrook College and lives in Falmouth. She and her husband John enjoy their home, gardening, writing and travel.

Priscilla Bennett Doucette
Chairperson, Oakhurst Charitable Giving Committee
A member of the Dairy's Board of Directors since 1983, Priscilla is Chairperson of the Charitable Giving Committee, on the Marketing Advisory Committee, and assists with the Milky Way newsletter. Now retired, she taught English at Portland High School for twenty-nine years.
A life-long resident of Portland and a graduate of the University of Southern Maine with a Masters in Education, Priscilla is a Trustee of the Maine Historical Society and a board member of Oceanside Conservation Trust of Casco Bay. She and her husband Dale enjoy their grandchildren, working in their gardens, walking, reading, birding, travel, and the beaches of Little Diamond Island and Vieques, Puerto Rico.

Mary Ellen Bennett Tetreau
Chairperson, Oakhurst Consumer Advisory Committee
Mary Ellen is Chairperson of the Dairy's Marketing Advisory Committee, a member of the Charitable Giving Committee, and assists with the Milky Way newsletter. She has been a member of the Board of Directors since 1983. She was employed as the Director of Purchasing for the Maine Turnpike Authority and retired in 2006 after 29 years of service.
Mary Ellen graduated from Springfield College. She is an active member of the Leadership Council for The Community Schools at Opportunity Farm and Camden. She lives in North Yarmouth with her husband Tom. They have three grown children, Thomas, Eleanor, and Charles. She and her family enjoy hiking, kayaking and bird watching in Milbridge and the Downeast area of Maine.
