Oakhurst Dairy Announces Winner Of Living Healthy Shopping Tour

Portland, Maine (March 25, 2009)Oakhurst Dairy is pleased to announce that Pauline Bremser of Kennebunk, ME was selected as the final winner of the 2008 Living Healthy Shopping Tours.  Ms. Bremser won a $100 gift card to a local supermarket, in addition to a “Healthy Shopping 101” grocery store tour with Oakhurst Dairy Dietitian, Pamela Stuppy, MS, RD, LD.

The Living Healthy Shopping Tour is part of Oakhurst’s continued commitment to health.  The tours provide a valuable opportunity to go through the supermarket with an expert and learn how to better understand nutrition labels and what to look for to make better, healthier purchasing decisions.  Ms. Bremser has three children between the ages of 10 -13, so good nutrition is always top-of-mind when food shopping.

“I consider myself fairly knowledgeable about nutrition but there is always more to know, and Pam was very helpful in showing me how to decipher nutrition labels,” said Bremser "I am a big fan of Oakhurst Plus Nu-Trish milk.  It is the perfect choice for my family as I am concerned about growth hormones and really believe in the benefits of the probiotics. And, I feel good about buying Oakhurst milk because of all they do for our communities and the environment.”

“There is so much talk about Calcium, Vitamin D and other nutrients that it can be confusing.  Most everyone can benefit from more in-depth, yet simple, explanations of the advantages of nutrients and how much of them are in the products they are purchasing,” said Stuppy.  “I think the information Pauline learned on our tour will enable her to continue to make smart choices for her family.”

There will be three opportunities to win The Living Healthy Shopping Tour in 2009.  Information on the 2009 contest will be announced in Natural Goodness News, Oakhurst’s quarterly health newsletter. To subscribe to receive the e-newsletter visit
